Procedure Text

 Whew, I honestly almost forgot about this one. If I recall correctly I think this was the first topic we learned after semester break, which meant we all learned this at home via online school. Oh some things are coming back to me after seeing the PowerPoint on google classroom. As always, Mr. Ach instructs us to watch a video and answer some questions relating to it in groups. I forgot who specifically was in my breakout room but I remember being in Group 3. The video, as always, again, is made by past DW students; I got the one made from the 21st batch and the 17th (I think?) batch. The first video contains a procedure on how to drift a car, which was super cool honestly, by the explanation I can tell they're real automotive-heads. The second video is tips on how to treat a cold without drugs, which was more on the biological-traditional side. After watching it, we all answered the questions respectively.

Before going to my actual procedure text assignment I think I'll dive into the actual material first;

Procedure Text = A text that explains how to do something in sequence of action.

Structures = Goal - Material/Ingredients - Steps

Okay back to the fun thing now, I chose a food related procedure text because I know I won't have any difficulties in writing it, so I chose a recipe that I actually constructed on how to make my favorite bake goods, ooey gooey chocolate chip cookies!!

The making of the PowerPoint was delightful, I got to use this adorable pink themed Canva template and cute little animation icons depicting the ingredients. I mean it was a ton of work too don't get me wrong but it kind of made me happy going back in time and see how many cookies I have actually made and how I improved along the way. Anyhow, since I already have the recipe I just have to copy paste it to the PowerPoint and make it look pretty. Another reason to make something you're good at as your assignment's topic, ya don't have to research anymore (this and my Taylor Swift themed sociology journal is the living breathing example :D)

Alright, to finish this off here's the actual recipe, enjoy

single serve chocolate chip cookie

3 tablespoons butter room temperature (always take out butter from your fridge hours before, but if you dont have time, fill a bowl with hot water, take it out, and place the bowl upside down on top of the butter)

3 tablespoons brown sugar

3 tablespoons sugar

toasted milk powder (this gives a more nutty flavor, gives the same flavor profile as browned butter without actually using it, bake milk powder in the oven for 10 minutes ish)

vanilla extract

1 large egg yolk room temperature

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon cornstarch (this gives a crumbly top on the cookie)

8 tablespoons flour

preheat oven

cream butter + sugar

add egg yolk, vanilla, baking soda, cornstarch, salt, toasted milk powder, mix

add flour, fold it to prevent from overmixing

add chocolate chips, fold

chill dough in the freezer for 15 mins so the dough wont spread flat in the oven

bake it at 175 celcius oven for 20 minutes (insert a toothpick, if it comes out clean then its done)

final tip : sprinkle some salt on top of the cookies, balances out the sweetness perfectly
