Relative Clause
Oh where to begin for this interesting yet very challenging topic. It all began in the very beginning of September, Mr. Ach introduced us to a new topic after learning about prepositional phrases. At first after Mr. Ach gave us sentence examples, i thought to myself "Hey this is not so bad, you're familiar with this Nasywaa, you've been using it all you're life". That's where I'm dead wrong, it sure does sound easy in theory, but its a whole different story in practice. I remember it was a Friday where Mr. Ach told us to find information regarding this topic, he told us that it would be easier for us to learn if we have familiarized ourselves with the topic first before listening to his presentation. Anyway, We were all divided into groups and all the members in my breakout room, including me, started doing the work that I assigned them to do. After the group assignment, we were presented with this cute Naruto themed presentation that Mr, Ach have made for us. Turns out, a relative clause is a kind of conjunction [word connector] which function to connect the word having the same noun. It is divided into two parts, we will learn about human relative clauses first (who, whom, whose) and after that we'll learn about the relative clauses for things (which is, where, whose). Mr Ach explained it well and gave us time to ask about any unclearness, which I think I had a lot of. I mean sure if you think of it as just combining two sentences with a clause its easy, but the challenging part of it is the structure, the word placement, and where does this word go, where does that word go, you feel me?
After we were done with relative clauses for human, last Friday we moved on to relative clauses for things. Which now that I think about it again, is slightly easier than the human relative clauses. Funny thing, Mr Ach got into confusion mode for a while and came 15 minutes-ish late but he still managed to explain the topic perfectly to us, like the great teacher he is. After that we were assigned to do practice tests which were Naruto-themed again, which was fun of course but i literally had to ask Kira for clarification because I didn't know the gender of this specific character talked about in the sentence.
Anyway, here is a couple of notes that I am just going to put about relative clauses that I wrote during the classes. (sorry sir some of these are in bahasa HAHA)
relative clause = word connector, gabungin kata benda yg sama dalam 1 kalimat.
relative clause connects the main sentence with the adjective sentence (adjectival clause)
gary loves music (main sentence)
he is wearing blue t shirt (adj sentence)
subjek org nya + adj sentence + main sentence
jadi harus nempel dulu
cari kata benda yang sama
cari kalimat penjelas
gabungin sesuai struktur itu
kalo dari it jadi which
kalo dari there jadi where
FIRST SENTENCE JGN DIUBAH UBAHH POSISI NYA, selalu di depan
