Job Vacancy
Yet another intriguing topic that Mr. Ach have succeeded in elevating to a whole new level. We just learnt about it last Wednesday but boy am I already pumped up for this whole thing. We were told to look for job vacancies that are related to the future university major that we will be taking. That was already a new thing for me, because usually in my middle school or even in my current bahasa indonesia class, we were just told to write a job application letter based on an already-provided job vacancy by the teacher. With that, i found out google surprisingly provided a job vacancy space in their website, I literally only had to google "job vacancy in media" and a square box popped up filled with various job opportunities in said field. Like they give you a thorough explanation about the job, the date it was posted, the affiliate link, 2 choices of job sites in which you can apply at, information about the company and last, the search by categories thingy ( so you can search by position, title, location, date posted, language, company type and so much more). So that is a new thing for me, apparently being in Mr. Ach's class always results in me finding out about things I didn't before, which is the definition of learning i guess? but you know its so much more than that. Anyway, after Mr. Ach approved the job vacancy of my choice, I went straight to work. I spared no detail on this assignment, i literally googled the title that i will (insyallah) have if i get accepted to my dream university. Ilkom UI inter is a double degree right, so i googled what Australian university title ill get too if I end up going there. I googled a lot of job application letters, translated a couple of words, looked up the synonym of some words and my letter was finally done. After that, I spent the whole afternoon trying to make my dream CV while still making it look believable. I looked up book agencies internships in Australia, looked up the selection of clubs that the University of Queensland offered (i decided to go for the head of UQ book club!!) and pretended to be a member of my friend's youth organization, named projectbuzzid. They actually went viral a year ago for covering the RUU PKS topic, since then they continued to grow exponentially, I actually took some of their actual mental health topics to put in my job application letter.
That assignment was one hell of a ride (im sorry sir if im not allowed to say hell but i cant help it) because I don't know I guess I just like the thrill of pretending to live my dream life. Anyway, we will be having a pretend job interview next Wednesday and I hope ill ace it.
Also sir, just wanted to use this space to thank you for being a spectacular teacher, you put so much effort into teaching us, you're always complimenting us, you always make sure each and every one of us understands the topic, you're soo kind and patient, you help us soo much with our assignment, you are never tired of reminding us of our tasks, you're always smiling, laughing, making jokes and it cheers us up too. Keep being the happy go lucky teacher that we all know and love yaa sir, its such a shame that I only get to spend a year with you :/
I am writing this as I have just finished my mock job interview with Mr. Ach, as of right now I am very relived it ended, not because it was a bad experience or anything its just that I was very nervous HAHA. Was literally shaking as I entered the zoom meeting but its all good. After I joined the breakout room, Mr Ach asked for permission to record the meeting, and right after he asked me that he immediately went to character. He began the introduction and asked me to mention the job position I was applying at, i misread and said social media marketing when the actual position was social media writer LOL but thankfully I changed my answer real quick although I'm sure Mr. Ach heard the first answer already. I think I nailed the introduction part as well as strength and weaknesses but I kinda went off track and mumbled in the teamwork and conflict part. All in all, even though I was very nervous, I love these kinds of practical assignments as this can actually help us in real life later on. Thankyou for this opportunity Mr. Ach!! and I cant wait to hear your feedback of the interview as it will help me with university applications.
ps. sorry if i spoke too fast tadi Sir
